Default Island Lake Bass (caught)

So after years of hearing about bass in island lake, I thought to give fly fishing a try on opening weekend... After a bunch of tiny pike, I caught one! I was just stripping a smaller clouser through the shallows. Seems like the lake just turned over because the water was a bit murky. Not a bad way to start the season.

Pretty strong accusation without any proof.

Cool I thought that the test netting a few years ago showed none in the lake.

I am sure they will at least a few guys going to be hitting that lake in the near future.

That would be quite an amazing bit of news, as so many other reports say there have been no smallmouth in there for many years. If it's legit, it's a real shame there is no background in the photo to prove it was at Island Lake. All we can tell for sure is that there is a pic of someone in a boat with a smallmouth bass.

Well, if he's in a boat then he has reeds tied on to it for camo so he can sneak up on the fish.

LOL, yah, right after I posted I looked at the photo and realized there wasn't even a boat.

Interesting about the reeds though... those are full-grown summer reeds, not middle-of-May reeds that wouldn't even be emergent yet. So I guess that's the proof he was asking for to call this FAKE FAKE FAKE!

Pretty impressive you managed to find full grown, green reeds this time of year. And I can't seem to remember what part of the lake has a murky current...
