Exclamation NEED LAST MINUTE HELP - Where to buy Bait in Sundre?

As the thread title says, I spent 5hrs fixing my ice shack this evening and then realized I haven't bought maggots or smelts for my ice fishing trip in the AM.

I'm headed to Burnstick for the first time and taking the secondary highway from Cochrane North.

Are there any gas stations along the way in Sundre that sell bait?

Any help is appreciated. I know I can find some in Innisfail, or even Rocky Mtn House, but never bought bait in Sundre.

depending on the time you come through you can get some bait at Murph's (west side of town big yellow sign on right side) or you can get it at the Shell station on the east side of bridge (not sure how good it is). Another gas station in center of town advertises bait on left side just through the lights.

Hey,

there is a husky on bowness rd, near the hotels and safeway, which is 24hrs

They have a surprising bait selection (and lures) and have white and pink/red maggots as well as artificials.

maggots are nice and healthy.

i try to support their bait business when i can cause man does it come in handy

I'm already in the NW, and would take crowchild to Cochrane, but we may do the detour and use stoney to reconnect.

Thanks

Yup, good call. Hard to spot but there's tons of weird synthetic maggot type baits above the fridge and some other similar stuff in jars in the corner. Never use scent infused plastics myself though.

Oh yeah, Azn rice man and I were in there last weekend and just a heads up, the cashier's boyfriend is "out of town".

Your going to pass through Caroline i assume ? I pick my bait up at the store just as you pass through town. Last stop on the right. If Burnstick is slow Phyllis lake is not to far and you can give it a go for Rainbows.

I have some of these, and while they're not my first choice, in a situation like this they make a good backup plan.
