Default North Two Lakes fish kill

For anyone looking to fish two lakes on the may long or thereafter: I was on the north lake this past Saturday & the were hundreds of dead rainbows both on the surface & on the bottom. Sad, winterkill strikes again! Not a single living fish seen. South lake was still 30% iced up but did not see any signs of winterkill there, though I doubt it is a problem for that lake.

I was also at the north lake on Saturday. Didn't see a single fish jump, and didn't have a single bite. Saw a bunch of floaters too. I made a comment to my brother that I thought the lake had winter killed and he told me that just because I didn't catch a fish at the lake doesn't mean all the fish are dead, lol.

Doesn't look good, didn't fish the south lake but hopefully it's alright.

If your brother had seen & smelled all those dead rainbows, he'd have a different perspective.
Have you tried either Nose Lake on the way to Two Lakes, or Spring Lake near Hythe? Spring had a partial winterkill last winter but still a few big ones made it through.

Thanks for the SRD numbers. A guy from Devon took some good pictures on an ipad & said he would forward them to SRD.

Yeah, we had seen a few dead ones, but not huge numbers where we were at on the lake. I just thought it was funny that my brother doesnt catch a fish so he automatically thought the fish had all died. Even funnier when he texted me to tell me he had got ahold of SRD and he was right! We had talked about hittting up spring lake soon to make up for the bad fishing at 2 lakes. Didnt know that nose lake had fish in it though. What kind?
