Icefishing Jackfish Lake

I have a couple questions about this lake..

I fished there in the summer, and its been good, but the parking rates were CRAZY high! $20/vehicle!! Does that parking rate change in the winter because of less traffic on the boat launch??

And second, has anyone ice-fished jackfish? Is it slow?

Jack fish West of Stony Plain? I go there often in the winter for a quick one after work. No charge for access in the winter. Drop me a line if your heading out there, always interested in heading out.

no charge late fall or winter, not exactly sure when they start/stop, but i was there over a month ago, and already free parking then

The one West of Edmonton can be really good or dead slow sometimes for fish. There's good spots to ice fish there.

Summer though they have someone at the booth and they used to charge $10.00 Have the rates gone up?

jackfish lake near stony plain was $20 per vehicle this summer. I never paid, booth was closed by the time i went there about 1-2 months ago, just saw the sign with the dates and fees, don't remember the dates though.

Okay, the rates did go up. Quite often there is no one in the booth during the week days so you don't end up paying

The older lady is there from may long on till it gets too cold for her probably. She just sits in her little booth there with nothing for heat or anything. She is there from 8am till 9:00pm on weekends I believe and around 4:30 till 9:00on weekdays. I was there almost everyweekend this summer and payed alot. It used to be 10.00 but now 20 its b.s forsure they aren't even paving it she says but there has to be some justification for such a crazy amount. I love the lake though it is EXECELLENT. I really liked it and cant wait to go back. Crap 20.00 dollars!!!
