Default Who's looking for a Hunting Partner ???

Hey guys and gals, with bow season just around the corner I think it's time for the 'hunting partner thread'. Last year we had a similar thread that was quite successfull in helping hunters hook up with others wanting a hunting partner.
It's a GREAT way to make new friends and the plus side to having a partner is very rewarding. Many life long friendships are made this way.

After 2 consecutive grizzly attacks ( 07 & 08 ) in the Sundre area, many of us 'go alone hunters' were questioning how safe it is to be out there by ourselves. I remember some of the discussions we had on this forum about hunter safety and it prompted me to start last years thread and I also have permission from one of the mods to do one this year.

If your a newbie, recently moved to Alberta from another province or maybe just decided two is better than one, please feel free to leave your name here.

Give the guys a little background about yourself and what kind of hunting your interested in and I'm sure you'll find a suitable partner.

Stay safe out there and g'luck filling those tags!!

Here is a link to the other thread from last year.

After seeing some of the pictures of the hunting camp you set up, I may want to claim "new hunter" status and hunt with you just for the camp experience.

This is my first season hunting in AB. I moved from the UK last year, but I have hunted 2 seasons in NB.(hunted in the UK for years)
I know from experience that finding a good hunting partner is harder than finding a wife!
I"ve met literally dozens of folks here and swapped numbers, never to hear from them again(actually, now that I think about it that"s the same thing that happenned when I was looking for a wife...)

Im a complete rookie looking to get out for the first time this year. It isnt a huge deal if I dont make a single shot this year (still looking for a decent rifle), just want to get out for the experience and learn as much as I can. Definately not afraid to get dirty and Im not usually one to shy away from heavy labour if its needed.

Its really hard to hook up with someone unless we state were we are looking to hunt. Any ladies out their looking to take up the chase this fall, 15 years of hunting experience, own gun, 7mm08 and 358ruger for the big boys, can field dress and know my way around pretty good. Rocky area

Wow, this dude wants to hunt. Somebody better take this guy out. I myself dont know a ton about waterfowl hunting so it would not be worth the 3 hour drive to come up here for some mediocre duck hunting.

Wow! Its refreshing to see the goodwill and sense of community on here, people willing to help out and share. I've lived a bunch of places and you don't get that too much these days. I would volunteer some time but will be too busy with school.

You're quote above reminded me of something. About 10 years ago before I started hunting I had this urge to learn how to hunt. I had an old rifle but I wasn't brought up with hunting and didn't really know anyone who hunted. I walked into Russell Sports and talked to a gentleman behind the counter named Gary and told him my situation. Nicest guy you'd ever meet, he taught me about the regulations and took me on a few hunts. Of course I learned a lot from him and have been able to pay it forward. Ever since I moved to Alberta from B.C., I tell you, some of the most genuine people and great hunting to boot. Keep up the goodwill everyone and thanks!

what zones around Innisfail are you looking at. I grew up around 220(west if town) and 216( east of town), I know lots of the farmers and have pretty good relations for hunting permission. I can introduce you to some good people in those areas.

I have a draw in 160-164 for archery anelope this year. Most yrs I would have time to go and do alot of scouting but this yr I will not be able to. So I am looking for someone that knows the area and would be able to help me with this hunt. I am not looking for a world record but a good set up for a average goat. I would like to film this hunt for a TV show so things need to be set up well.

I'm a young guy (20) who is a newbie. Spectated on a few hunts when I was a little guy but don't know anyone who hunts since my grandpa passed. Figured I would take a stab at a whitetail this year as I just did my hunter ed this spring. Will travel anywhere 4 hours or so from Calgary. Looking to hunt forestry as I don't have any landowner contacts. Have my own rifles. If anyone wants some company and to show me some stuff drop me a PM.

I will be in the Suffield area for cow elk in the early season. If any one else needs some help or would like to join me then feel free to drop me a line. I was also drawn for archery antelope in the same season and zones. I am in Calgary.

Also interested in hunting geese and ducks. If any one else wants to hook up that has their own blind (I only have one for myself) then let me know. I am willing to scout with you but I can only run around on weekends due to work.

I'm located in Edmonton. I have been hunting big game for twenty years, almost exclusively in Saskatchewan. I am wanting to go White Tail hunting (with Rifle) this fall in the Edmonton area (within say a 3 hour radius). Please contact me if anyone is interested in hunting for White Tails in this particular area.

I recently got laid off and have enough money saved up to take hunting season off unless something too good to turn down comes up (seems unlikely at this point). My wife is going to nait untill november so pretty much I'm free and batching it untill then except for weekends. If anyone wants to come up and hunt Slave Lake for any species I can probably find a place for you to crash and show you around. I've got two canoes and love hunting rivers so if anyone wants to do a drift hunt I'm game.
