Huberdeau Kadri and Lindholm could all be traded as far as I'm concerned, and let Zary, Pospisil, Pelletier, and Coronato have more ice time. The young guys are getting it done.

But nobody asked me.

If they could find anyone to take Huberdau's contract they would probably happily give him away for free. Don't think any team would ever consider paying that 10.5MM /Yr though. Plus he has a NMC.

Huberdeau makes the James Neal Deal look like a brilliant bargain.

Lol

Gaudreau is -4 and 6 points so far this year. He’s also been benched.

If he isn’t injured… he’s playing the big salary don’t need to try game. Based upon being benched… it appears his desire for anonymity in a small market also means small points.

Looking great tonight. Pucks bouncing the right way always helps.

Great effort. Mixing it up. Showing passion.

Only way is up people!

Keep on climbing.

Not a bad road swing.

Calgary is currently 6-8-3 with 15 pts.

If 95 pts is required to make the playoffs, they'll need to go:

-0.615 win percentage for the remainder of the season;
-Get the equivalent of 40 wins; or,
-40-25.

Eleven teams had a 0.615 win percentage or higher last season.
Currently their win percentage is 0.441%.

Definitely doable if just getting in is the goal.

I have no doubt both Calgary and Edmonton will be able to play plus .625 hockey the rest of the season. Maybe not much more but I think they both will do it.
They will however be facing the best of the best first round. Which isn’t a bad thing in my eyes.
If you can beat out a top team first round it would be such a boost that will be needed to carry it through.
But that’s going a little farther ahead into the future than I should.
Typical oiler fan I guess……. Planning 60 games ahead but don’t have a plan for the next 5 games. Lol

I'm a little more pessimistic I suppose. I think both could make it, but moreso leaning toward Calgary, do I see them beating Vegas/Dallas/Colorado in 7 games? I do not, especially if we trade away our UFAs, and I certainly don't want to gamble with them and see them walk in the summer. I'm a fan who is firmly on-board with a "re-tool".

An overtime win. Huh. Color me surprised and even a little impressed.

Just think fellas, it could always be worse. Huberdeau has more goals and points than both Gaudreau and Laine combined, who have a combined cap hit of $18.45M. We're getting a deal!

Zary. 8 points in 9 games.
Gaudreau. 7 points in 19 games.

Not a huge fan of our defence, but Markstroms been way better this year vs last.

How about a Markstrom, Hanifin and a third round pick for McDavid?

Edmonton cried when Gretzky was traded. What would happen if McD was traded to Calgary lol.

McDavid is a great individual player based upon being drafted in 2015 and never winning a cup.

Trading him for a balanced skilled team would be a smart move now.

On Sports 1440 today, Lowetide had a point. McDavid may be untradeble. The other team would have to have a heckuva lot of assets. You can't attach a bunch of cash to a deal like you could with the Gretzky sale. It might be possible if you have a centre who's at least somewhat close to McDavid, as in Matthews. You could start there, I guess.

Only teams that could afford the upcoming cap hit don't have close to the assets it would take to make that trade

McDavid is getting traded?

Oh, sorry, I thought this was the Flames thread, not the Fantasy Hockey thread....

Flames lost last night... McDavid trade is a good distraction.

I will say one thing, if Conroy could pulled off the trade Sundancedreamer purposed, he would win GM of the year for the next 10 years for that trade alone!

Apparently an ugly win is still worth 2 points. I'm actually kind of shocked they came back from a 4-2 deficit to win 7-4. Markstrom was bloody awful.

Dunno, seems pretty easy to win games with a 0.852 SA%.
