Default Fall 2023 mule deer finished up

We need some more hunting stories and pictures up on here. I drew a southern mule deer tag this year. My wife had the tag last year and we didn’t see any real good bucks, so when I found this guy opening day he was hard to pass up. Probably a younger deer with really good genetics. I almost gave him the pass but decided he was good enough. He ended up grossing just over 180 and won our local big buck night. I do my own taxidermy, I really like this hard turn wall pedestal mount.

He's a beauty! Ya it's hard to pass that guy up on opening day. Great job on the mount, and awesome collection.

I was thinking that “finished up” means something like this, lol!

I thought he looked like a real good young deer looking at your pics, then I read your write-up. Beauty deer, beauty wall, well done on the taxidermy!

Congrats and great job on the mount.
Love the wall of fame, looks awesome. Really like that ram mount with the rock underneath.
Gives me an idea if I am fortunate to get another.

Great buck and beautiful mount.
I also do my own and just mounted the Mulie I took with a draw tag last fall this weekend (yours is bigger!).
Nice wall of beautiful animals and good looking mounts.

Shot him by myself so field photos sucked. Went back and got my boys to load him. Here’s a couple more

Nice buck! I got my first decent sized mulie buck this year. Kind of a cool landowner story. I got it on ACA land and it ran onto private land. Luckily the landowner had his number on his gate. Phoned and he let me go on to find the buck. It took and evening and a morning but we found him! Then he tested positive for CWD...so lost the meat which was really tough. But a cool hunt nonetheless.
