Default mechanical question for you dodge guys

Girlfriend just called, while on her way home from the grocery store the gen light on our 96 1500 4x4 came on so she whipped into a parking lot, after stopping briefly she went to reposition her park job and said brake peddel was siezed in one place and if she gave it throttle there was no response just stayed at a idle, then the oil pressure guage dipped to zero so she shut it off.im stuck at work for awhile yet so thought i would see if anyone had experienced this before ?

A quick search reveals this (Gen light) is an incredibly common problem for mid-to-late 90's Chrysler products. Check alternator output first, could be going bad on you. Easy fix, hopefully that's what it is. Bad alt output will cause a severe drop in oil pressure, limit engine output and all that. Does the engine waver while idling? RPMs up and down?

My 02 dodge will act up some days, volt meter going to zero, other things too. Some of this can be cleared up by shutting down and starting up again. I think the problem is coming from my ECM.
Good luck with you truck, let us know what the fix was.
