How has chain lakes and willow creek been?

Anyone been down there this year. I haven’t been for a couple years but wanna take my son to catch some fish. Only fished the lake a couple times but never from shore. Is it good from shore. Willow creek used to be amazing but the flood and the new dam has changed things so wondering if it’s any good

I've had good luck from shore this year and last (18/17) but not in the main visitor's section, further up from the parking areas it's pretty quiet and have had great days and good days. A couple of zeros but not many. The fish are on the smaller side (at least what I've caught lol) but still feisty and a good time.
