Default Boating the NSR

Just curious if anyone has launched and ran an outboard upstream of the zoo in Edmonton? I regularly run it from Capilano and the high level bridge, but it is to shallow after that. Hoping to try some new areas while the water level is up.

I ran that stretch once in my kayak(just up to Whitemud creek). It is fairly shallow and fast and gave me a good workout. I was trying to stick closer to shore where there is less current so out in the middle it might be doable but it is probably only 3-5 fow with the odd shallower spot is my guess.

Once you get close to the Bridge over the Henday, you will need a Jet to go any further safely.

When the river is high, just keep her on plane and you can go anywhere if you are in the main channel or close to it.
