Default Anyone hunt bear in Saskatchewan?

I know this is the Alberta Outdoorsmen Forum but.... Spring fishing trip to Cree Lake is coming up fast. Spring trips always have a bear tag in my pocket, and I'll be there for a week. Any tips for a guy that has never actively hunted bear? I've read the regs twice, and will read at least once more, but want to make sure I'm not missing anything completely different then the regs here
Thanks

Default Bears

I guess it begs the question, what province are you a resident in?

All non-resident big game hunters (white-tailed deer, moose and bear) and
Canadian resident moose hunters must use the services of an outfitter, possess
a resource allocation licence (RAL) and the applicable guided licence.
Canadian resident black bear hunters may hunt with or without an outfitter;
however, if an outfitter is used, a RAL and guided licence are required.
Canadian resident hunters who hold a draw white-tailed deer licence have the
option to hunt with or without an outfitter and do not require a RAL or guided
licence.

Thank you, my understanding was that Canadian residents did not require an outfitter for bear as well

Lived in Sask. for four years, never hunted bear there, though. I have a couple of buddies from Hawaii in northern Sask. this week on a guided bear hunt. I'll post up how they did Sunday when they fly out.

We are going for the fishing, which should be awsome but I have the itch to do a little hunting/exploring on foot while we are up there.
