Nice ones. I'd love to catch a Sturgeon one day. Can't say it's not because of a lack of trying from my part. I just need some cooperation from the Sturgeon.

Just like to point out that you guys are displaying great fish handling techniques. They make for great photos and are easier on the fish. Great Job!

The sturgeon put up a great fight but i was using a light medium cherrywood so I was the underdog. The one I had on the day before was beter, it broke me off while swimming upstream.

Thanks Penner! We net them strike a quick pose lol and put em back in a hurry everytime. We fish on the river alot so we're seasoned at the quick pic and release. For the sake of the geon i just walked right in to the river, only had him in my hands for like ten seconds and he was gone. Didn't weigh him or even get a length. It's my alltime biggest fish and it's the most memmorable too as my GF was with me and she shot a quik low quality video on the cell phone.

I hear ya on the no lack of trying thing. Last year was my first year catching one, a lil guy back in june I think. It's one of those right place at the right times kinda things and you gotta get lucky to boot.

Talk about sme great looking Pickeral! Did you catch the Sturgeon on a Pickeral Rig? Back home on the Red River I know guys that catch Sturgeon are usually fishing with CatFish Rigs cause' they sit right on the river bed, and they get lucky and pull in a Sturgeon. I'm really looking forward to heading out on the NSR,looks like fun.

The sucker is a shorthead redhorse sucker (formerly northern redhorse).

Thanks MathewsArcher I've been skeptical of what species it was, the tail and anal fin were epic red. The sturgeon was caught on a custom pickeral rig.
