Default Steele Lake (Cross Lake)

Hoping for some insight on steele/cross lake north of Westlock. I am going there for May long and I have never fished it before, so just curious to how the lake is. I know that there is pike and perch for species in the lake.

How do you find perch fishing this time of year? Never really targeted perch so early in the open water season, but would love to get into some if I could.

Will post results after the weekend.

Any help would be great.

Thanks,
JBLS

Default Steele (cross) Lake May Long report

Had steady luck with 1-3lbs pike all day long. Was fun to get out on the open water and get a few! Never tried for the perch unfortunetly, and everyone I talked was fishing for only pike, all having pretty good luck too, but never seen any body with one over 4 lbs though.
