Default Need opinions on PRVI brass

What has been your experience with PRVI brass in terms of quality and reloadability?
I would love to buy Lapua but they don't make 300 Win Mag...

Thanks.

Default Prvi

We have PVRI brass in .300 Win. Mag, 7mm Rem. Mag. and .308 and 7.62 x39.
I did a weight sort on the PVRI in .308. It wasn't as consistent weight wise as the Lapua. It seems to be quite tough and doesn't seem to ''grow'' as much as Winchester. Primers seat nicer first time around also. Still too early on how many times it can be reloaded here, but I think it will do well. Some of the F class guys are using it so it can't be that bad. The PVRI brass in .300 Win. Mag. would certainly be fine for hunting. I do a weight sort on all brass. With Lapua it's kind of a waste of time.

I have some I load in my 6.5x55's, seems to work well enough. I don't even know how many loads it's had, but quite a few. I've never bothered to way or check necks etc. Shoots pretty tiny groups out of my T3. I have since bought Laupa, but haven't started loading it yet. If all I could find was Privi, I wouldn't give it a second thought.

I have used unsorted Prvi brass for a loading in a BAR that was chambered in 300 mag , the results were ten shots under an inch on a continual basis .
I also use it occasionally for the .303's with very good results

I've loaded it a bit.
Results were neither any better or any worse for brass(ammo) of that price point.

I did find some smaller than normal flash holes from time to time. Didn't break any de-capping pins, but I did pull a few de-capping pins out of the spindle, or pulled them through on Lee dies.

Nothing that a touch with a #45 drill bit didn't dress up.

I've been using prvi 300wm brass for awhile now, I've gotten 4 reloads, I also don't load hot rounds. I haven't found any issues except for 1 out of a bag of 100 was junk cause the neck was crushed, probably during shipping at one point. Good stuff I find. I've ordered it a few times from Henry at budget shooter supply.

I've got prvi brass for my 9.3x62, seems to be quite a few that don't fit in my shell holder. Not super impressed, I doubt I'll buy it again. That said I've got 2 bags that will last me quite awhile. They won't go to waste, I'll have to sort them first

I've been pretty impressed with the brass I have. It's not Lapua, but I prefer it to Remington/Winchester.

The 9.3 x 62 brass fit tight in a RCBS #3 shellholder they fit better in a Pacific P1. I loaded mine 4 times with fairly stout loads they are holding up so far, better quality than Win/Rem.

Good to know, thanks! I'll look for a P1

Privi is good brass. I have 7.5Swiss and 303 Brit brass by them. The 303 lasts way longer than Winchester.

I think that happened to me tonight. I has my pin get pulled a couple times. I was sizing some old brass that was purchased as ammo in the 80's. Some Yugoslavian stuff I think. Dad thought it was a good deal.

No complaints here in 6.5 x 55 and 9.3 x 62.

Interesting to here about the thick rims on the 9.3x62 brass... I too had the same issue. Had to scrounge around to find a shell holder to fit them and it was still a squeeze. Also, every case was above the recommended max trim length so I had to trim the whole bag..... Overall my experience with this calibre has been so poor that I will not purchase again and have purchased Lapua brass for my 9.3x62 Ruger No 1. Certainly sounds like this particular calibre may be the issue but as they say "once bitten...."
