Default Leupold QR

I picked up a set of Leupold quick release rings and base for my 450 Marlin guide gun. Does anybody have any experience with these with heavier recoil rifles? Do they stay secure and do they stayed zeroed when you remove and reinstall them? I'm going to be mounting a VXR Patrol 1.25 X 4 , 30mm tube

Have them on a 375 and a 460 Weatherby. They re-zero fine and have never had them come loose.

I used a set on a mild recoiling Ruger Scout in .308win with no issues. In the latest Field & Stream article, gun writer David Petzal, rates them second only to Talley.

I was shooting my Ruger .44 mag carbine with those rings as finger tight as I could get them and one came loose after 10 rounds. I tightened it again and it seemed ok after that but I couldn't shoot any decent groups. I'm not sure if it's the rings or the rifle but I'm having second thoughts about them.

They should have made the levers both longer and smoother as they really dig in when you crank on them.

I doubt it is the mounts. Both of mine will shoot 3 shot groups well under and inch with the QD mounts.

I have use Zeiss QD mounts on my Ruger but they have small levers
I had a standard set at one time on it before and simply used a quarter if it wanted to put the cope on.
I have never had an issue with the scope holding zero when shooting the rifle at 300 yards or further on targets or an animal .

I have parts for a couple of sets .... my fingers apparently apply greater than the tolerable torque.
