Default Took two first time Fishermen out today

My 2 buddies finally bought their licences after months of convincing. My friend S had a good time smoking his cigar after a few tangles. My friend R had his first legal pike on his very first cast! I was trying to teach them well so we released of course. I caught 3 more, all decent girls too. When we got back they were talking to their Parents about getting a combo and some tackle. Cheers S and R. Glad to share one of my many hobbies with anyone who cares.

One question tho from myself. Are there any lures or techniques that can be fished in a shallow lake with weeds everywhere? I've caught more weeds than fish and would like to spend more time fishing than picking weeds off my lure.

Try Johnson's silver minnows with or with out a trailer, work well in weeds.
Where there's weeds there's pike. Catching a side of salad is all part of the fun.

Will try to snag one chris. My box is quite limited at the moment, hoping to fill it up more variety and rapalas haven't been on my number one list just from the price although I know they can, do and will work.

If you are going after pike try using top water frogs and plugs.

Not to many things more exciting then having a fish destroy a hook you are hopping across the surface.

buzzbaits and spinnerbaits are great, they will go through almost any weeds and the pike love to kill them
