Default New Airdrie Resident

Well I made the big move from Calgary and am now a Airdrie resident. not sure what board members live out here , would love to head out with some. As well I am looking to get a stove for a hardwater shack I am working on. And maybe some ideas on solar panels.

What part of town are you in? I'm on the east side, across East Lk. Blvd from Burt Church H. S. and the Rec. Center. We should arrange a meet and greet, I know there are a few members here in Airdrie.

WAYNE. I am looking for something to heat my shack going to be 8ftx16ft.

GRINGO. That's a hell of an idea. Will send the wife off to Cochrane for a weekend and the boys can bbq and tell lies. You still thinking about a trip to Chin?

Hey Welcome to Airdrie. I've lived here for 30 years. Good fishing two hour drive in any direction. I am always looking to go out on short notice.

That's a big shack! Still a bit of time left til hardwater but I'm starting to think about building mine too. Not sure if I'm going to build a truck camper style shack or a big box like yours. I did a lot of research last winter so got a couple of plans done up. Maybe get together and share some ideas before I break out the saws.

Hey Jeff,
I live in Airdrie too, bout 2 minutes from your house in Reunion on the NW corner of the city. I can show you a couple great little ponds just outside of town. Heading out tomorrow to see if the water has cleared up at all with all this rain.
Ken

Count me in too, since I live on a farm just outside of Airdrie. I can go mid week after work no problem.

If you guys are planning a mid week trip to chin, I know some spots we can shore fish from, heck that's where we caught the big one lol. If we plan in advance, I could duck away from work and go with. Heck, I could even drive the VW diesel and save on fuel.

Default Shore fish Chin???????

When we go down there we are going to boat it and go for the monsters pike and wallys. I have fished there since I move here in the late 70's and is my favorite spot. We can even keep a couple for the pan there and that is a given. Some time in the next couple weeks should be good. The boss even ok'd an overnighter so we don't have to rush back. Stay tuned....

Yes you can shore fish chin. It's doable for sure. But I'm up for that too!

Hey buddy, glad to see you guys got a place. Maybe you'll stay put there for a while.

Been busy as hell myself lately. Went to Fernie all long weekend and fished the Elk River. Did 3 float trips. Caught over 100 cutthroats a few bulls, a few whitefish and a few brook trout.

Congrats on the big move.

Default Good place to start

Airdrie has a newly formed hunting and fishing association that meets once a month at the Bass Pro Shops. They have guest speakers each meeting as well as getting involved in local projects around the Airdrie area.
I'm out of town for a few days but if you want the email address send me a pm and I will forward it on to you when I get home.

Congrats on the move. I live in Saddleridge (unfortunately lol) so I'm game for some mid-week fishing near Airdrie if you guys are looking for some company.
