Is this the biggest one that's been posted here?

I seem to recall some bigguns from the NSR?

Awesome pic, of how not to hold large fish. There are better ways to handle fish that size, especially trophy sized, prime breeding stock of a protected species.

If my post is wrong, please explain to me why we should all handle fish the way this guy is.

Chill dude...this guy has caught more, tagged more and cared for more sturgeon on the south Bow than anyone I've ever seen! It's the biggest one he's landed and I see nothing wrong with the pic...besides sturgeon are tough!!

The guy holding the sturgeon would make a good one. I already showed his face in the post above........ now they just need to put a roughed up sturgeon under it.

Indeed they are tough. But I seriously doubt that this guy didn't rough up the internal organs a bit getting the fish into that position. The bigger they are; the gentler they need to be treated. It's just not a good thing for an ambassador of the species like him would show such a pic.

The fish looks heavier than the guy holding it. The sturgeon could not have been put into that pose without some manhandling.

No wonder some long time members have quit, can't we all be nice? Is that really too hard to ask? That's a heck of a huge fish, even just holding it I would imagine would be extremely hard. There's a way to ask question's or suggest something nicely without being accusatory....
I think we can all do a better job to make this forum a more welcoming place, and keeping it that way. Just a thought....

In your opinion how should a fish that heavy be held? And I'm not being argumentative. I genuinely want to know how you feel it should have been held for the picture.

Beautiful fish Congrats!!

Not to detract from such a beauty catch but a fish that size would be better off kept in the water for pictures or handled by 2 people for the brief amount of time for pictures, or on the gunnel of the boat to support the organs of the fish.
Just makes it safer for the fish and the people holding the fish.

Definitely the catch of a lifetime tho! Congratulations again!!
