Hi!
Currently new to Edmonton and looking for some places to fish from shore for pike, perch and trout. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Could try the river for a variety of fish (goldeye, pike, etc..) Cardiff park pond has trout and supposedly has perch as well. Muir lake is decently close for trout aswell. There are plenty more but those are the ones I'm familiar with

Shore fishing around Edmonton sucks imo. If you pick up anything to get on the water(canoe, kayak, inflatable pontoon, bellyboat etc) you will have much better luck and more fun.

Noticed a couple of guys on kiggi guiding in there boats for $100. a day around Edmonton. That sure beats fishing from shore and catching weeds.
I spend that much on a meal on the town

The NSR is great for shore fishing, many types of suckers, pike, walleye, sauger, burbot, goldeye, mooneye, and sturgeon. Theres more im forgetting Im sure. Most people fish near outlets and creeks but Ive caught fish pretty much everywhere Ive found calmer current and 4ft+ of depth. You can fish spoons, jigs, pickeral rigs, pretty much anything that looks like a small fish or a juicy worm will work. The only downside is the consumption advisory. As for trout theres probably a dozen lakes within an hour and half drive, most of them are fishable from shore. But like revcanoe said , a boat will significantly improve your odds.

Lakes like Pigeon and Wabamun offer decent shore fishing if you can find a spot.
At pigeon near the boat launch, although it can be very busy.
At Wab going to the points near the power plants and going around the train trestle can offer decent fishing if the bite is on.
If not the places on the NSR mentioned already are good
