Default Hunting Guide Corrections.

Just saw a link to "Hunting Guide Corrections". It looked like in (WMU 162,163,164,166.) that you could hunt all week for Mule and whitetail deer. Now the correction says only Wednesday through Saturday. Any body else see this?

BS I wouldn’t have drawn my Muley tag if I knew this was the case I have to weekend warrior Muley as I have all my time booked off for my whitetail hunt. Wish Alberta could get their stuff together when it comes to conservation... now I get 3 Saturday’s instead of 6 sat/sun.

It seems every year, for the past while, there has been significant mistakes. There were never mistakes years back.

I thought these were the only 100 series wmu’s that have always had a full 30 day November hunt for deer....?

I’m wondering if the new correction is “incorrect”....I hunted moose in one of these zones Nov 1st in a previous year which was a Sunday and I ran into a lot of guys that Were just hunting deer only...

The online regs still say Nov 1-30. It would be nice to know soon. Secondly, does anyone know why in the zones that are Wed-Sat only, why it starts on the 7th and not the 1st. The 1st is a Thursday, i feel like we are getting screwed out of a weekend there. I know it says the season goes till Dec 1, but that is only one extra day.

It's not one extra day. Every year no matter the dates they only give you 4 weekends (wed-Sat). They wait till the 7th cuz that's the first Wednesday.

So we just went through bow season and hunted 7 days a week but now rifle hunting is cut to 4 days a week????

With kids in hockey this leaves 8 days total to try to get the boys out hunting.

so just a clarification, the changes make the season opener on November 7(Wednesday) and NOT November 1(Thursday)?

who should i ask for my prepaid hotel reservation for nov 1 and 2 which i now don't need? and will they find me a new place ?

sucks guys, but as I found out with my draw mishap, nothing they can do...... They will even tell you its a screw-up, but that they can't do anything about it! Never realized what it meant to have absolute power, heck is this some form of communism? sheesh.

Haha. Gear down there Big Rig.
I called F&W today. She gave me an email address and I sent them my concerns. On my way home I called the Oyen F&W office and she knew about the problem. She called me back and said it was a mistake and it was changed back to 7 days a week. So all is good.
You can double check it now and it's AOK.
Good Hunting 😁

6 days a week only actually! Not allowed to hunt Sundays in the 100's, even in bow season.

Edit: Whoops, looks like Sunday hunting is prohibited only on WMU 102-160!

Historically WMU 166 has been the only 100 zone that had seasons that mirrored the 200's. not sure why they didn't just make 166 a 200 zone but that has been the way since I started watching it when I moved to drum several years ago.
