How to Register Whitetail with B&C
My father has recently found a deer on the property that will make 170. I would like to start the process of getting him scored and registered with B&C but having a difficult time finding a starting point.
I want to do it for my old man because he is a true steward of the land. Refuses to push over bush or drain sloughs, fences shelter belt trees from cattle and feeds deer our bales in hard winters without asking for compensation from F&W. I want to get his name in the 2016 edition if it isn't to late and give it him as a present.
Any help/contacts would be nice.
Thanks,
Luckwell

Find an official b&c scorer. Clear found dead trophy w f&w first. They may keep it forever tho.

^^^ You're wrong twice in that post. Pick ups are definitely eligible for entry and are listed as such. There are a couple of world records in fact that are found dead...bighorn sheep and non typical whitetail to name two. Further, there is no category for wolves in B&C.

Think you're confusing b&c with the Alberta big game record book.....in the Alberta one there is a wolf category. Not too sure about the eligibility requirements though, as one of the 2 wolves tied for top spot is a pick up, so obviously doesn't need to be hunted.

Before anything contact Fish and Wildlife to step through that hurdle.
Hopefully all is easy, Google official scorers for B&C and voilą the answer is there.....good luck, got any pics?

As has already been stated take those pictures along with the head to your local F&W office and pay 10 bucks for a found dead wildlife permit and find a local B&C scorer one go free m there.. Should be no problem to get the permit with those pictures, even if it was found on your own land he still ne dis to jump through that hoop... Nice dealer by the way.

I'm gunna step and say he won't make 170 net, looks damn close but the side to side will get him unless his main beams are stupid long. Brows are a tad short as well. Great buck and nice find, get him registered as said, touched up Color wise and do a beauty euro mount for him with some homestead wood he may recognize and don't worry about any paper work, surprise him with a plaque with his name, date and score and a pic of you and his grandson as posted and he will love it ! Congrats on a nice find

Think you are right. 164-166 just a little weak on the one side. A fantastic buck tho.
Upon a second look in the first pic his left side looks just as strong. Must be camera angle in the second. Those g4's are great. 172
