Guys ,some numbers out for March 24/25th FHA auction. Shows 50,000 coyotes, 51,000 sable/marten, and 13,000 fisher being offered. Assume includes the left over NAFA pelts as 155,000 rats and 90,000 coons being listed as well.
Nice amount of coyote pelts. NAFA had about the same amount in their first auction last year. Last year FHA had 8,542 pelts in the January auction and 12,373 in the March auction for a total of 20,915. I’m thinking that the increase in the number of pelts must be heavy westerns that normally would have been sent to NAFA. That’s enough to make the trip worthwhile for international buyers and hopefully not too many that they can get them dirty cheap. Bidding wars would be great.
Good volumes of wild fur should mean some larger international high volume buyers at the auction. Hope they bring lots of rubles and yen $$ and pay us trappers decent prices for our pelts.
