Default Eastern Cutthroat trout, Pike And Walleye No Go Zones

Has anybody heard what’s going to happen to fishing in Alberta for 2019. I heard something about the government closing down fishing for the mentioned species in Alberta for the next 5 years. So does that mean any body of water that holds these fish will be closed to fishing.

I heard it from a fish and game board member. I think the AGM is coming up soon. I guess we’ll have to wait until the new regs. are out in April to see what changes are mentioned.

There is a little article on the Agfa.org website under the news section, but it’s pretty vague about what is to happen this year Agfa has ask reg changes to be put off for the 2018 season. I just thought that somebody knows what is going down this year?

Something substantial enough is happening to get the AFGA final grow a pair and challenge the government on it.

So I would say bad things planned for fishing opportunities in southern Alberta.

I find it hard to believe. Also the consultations on pike/walleye that are going on across the province indicate more openings not less.

I assume you are talking about this release. http://www.afga.org/pdf/2018-Fishery...01-02-2018.pdf

I think you’re thinking about the ACA trout recovery program?
