Default 0/2 in January. Sylvan and Medicine.

Sylvan Lake, Palm Bay at least 18" of ice on the 3rd. No fish caught. One older fella said he caught 2 (unknown species) but wouldn't show.
Medicine Lake central to north end on the 6th. Over 12" of ice. No fish caught from anyone on the ice. 5 groups of fishers.
At least the weather was nice on both days.

Sylvan Lake fishing is good

Spending the day on catch & release of all except for whiteys and perch .. Yum Yum.

We moved the Castle 3 X's to get into the all species zone.

Jack's, Wall-eye, Burbots, Lk whites. Yellow Perch.

Lots of relives from across Canada and friends to share in the good times.

Yup had a great day today myself. Had to move a couple times but if there were fish around they were biting. Kept a 5 lb jack let a couple bigger go. 3 whites kept 3 skinny ones released. 5 nice perch too. The perch were deep and I went after them first. The whites and pike from same area and quite shallow. I would say 6 feet plus thickness of ice. Good enough for me for 5 hrs fishing.

Sounds just like the same day we had today at Halfmoon Bay. Lost three pike on the tip ups (guessing they were pike with how fast they took line) but saw absolutely nothing else all day except for a bunch of 2-4 inch fish in the really shallow area. Tried all over our area between 4-12 FOW. Didn't look like others around us was having much luck either today.

At least the ice is nice and solid for driving on.
