transferring of tags?

lets say that im hunting with another person and we each have multiple deer tags. After each of us bag a deer, my buddy decides he really doesnt need anymore meat for the year. Can he transfer his remaining tags to me so that i can use them? If so.... how is this done? Thanx guys

is there a specific reason behind this, the tags are still purchased, and would it make a difference if they were drawn for?

Nope, general or draw, you can't transfer tags. There are some partner hunting opportunities where you can designate a partner to hunt with you but no tags can be transfered.

thanx for the clarification, i looked in the regs and couldnt find anything so i was wondering what the ruling might be. i came across this situation this past year and i didnt know the proper protocol

You would be wise to direct questions about the law or regulation to the proper people; Fish & Wildlife. You did receive the correct answer in this situation but I have seen many threads where bad or inacurate advise was given.

thanx for the advice, this isnt really a burning question for me since i have alot of time to find answers else where first before aproaching F&W. Especially since i just finnished harassing them about a Baiting question i had.

If he were to shoot those deer and fill those tags, he could gift the meat to you after !
