It's the greatest game on earth but being a kid with no pressure in life is far more valuable. Be the best parent you can be, keep things in perspective, and even if they're willing, take time to recognize that it's all just a game and there's other things in life far more important.

I went the same route, with a very brief bit of Jr. Man, my body is sore, and I'm still a little ways away from 30. Many dislocated shoulders, surgery, broken rib, sore hands, two concussions, etc.
But man oh man, it was worth it
