For local news I talk to the old ukrainian Babas. If it happened they know about it.

For most world news ... I don't even want to know. What happens in Farawaykistan is irrelevant to this old guys daily life.

I look at whom owns the media. Whom is cutting the cheque’s. Then I have special formula, combined with secret ingredients. I process the info at a baked temperature of 510F for 18 minutes. Then the heated information is strained through a 120 shaker screen. After this process (happens every 45 minutes), I am able to find the nuggets. It’s a little work, but well received.

I like how they have the red box category of "Nonsense". Seems pretty fitting for the ones In it.

I get my news from the town crier.
He's relatively non-partizan.
Except when he's been drinking...

I get my 'news' from the CBC and the Rebel. I figure that the truth is somewhere in the middle. I also subscribe to the National Post e-edition. I really enjoy their columnists - Rex Murphy, Christie Blatchford, Conrad Black.

I love this post.

I'm just picturing a dishevelled town crier yelling while stumbling down the street at 3 am with his hat sideways, fly open and bottle of rum in his hand.

Cursing at the neighbourhood alley cats and screaming like a lunatic.

BNN because its mostly apolitical economics that matter to me as a Canadian, and Reuters as they don't tend to offer opinions. IMHO people that cry fake news just are not well informed enough to hear things and make decisions on if it makes sense or not. If you read enough across a spectrum it won't be hard to know when your getting spin. Those that stick to one source and call everything else fake are delusional. The trick is to not let stuff that you don't agree with **** you off!

Google news. If there’s a news story that interests me I can read multiple news stories reporting on the same issue. I find it pretty funny how different media outlets put their own slant on the story or leave out important facts.

A better image of the same thing:

Personally, I can't call a single or even a two or three main sources I get the news from. More often than not, any article on any particular subject comes a with a certain spin on it depending on the news outlet. If it is the subject I am very interested in, I actually look at a few different articles from a few different sources.

As for the hard facts and no commentary, I don't think anyone can beat Reuters. Bloomberg does an pretty good job as well. I enjoy reading The Wall Street Journal, as well as BBC (though they do have quite a bit of bs in there lately). My biggest surprise when I saw this "chart" was The Hill. I can't say I read them much, but I had an impression they were more on the left side of things.

I used to subscribe to The Economist and get a paper copy to my mail box. I stopped a few years ago. Can't really say why. May have been a few articles I didn't agree with and din't like the way they were trying to spin it.

Anyway, I think Reuters is way ahead of everyone else on actual facts reporting.

Lmao at anyone that think that graphic is accurate.
Breaking news!
Every news outlet has an agenda.
Use many sources across the political spectrum, then follow the money.
Sometimes you will get close to the truth, most of the time you will still only have a tiny glimmer of the reality behind the headline.

I watch 5 different news channels then try to determine the real news story after shaking out all the spin. Wife watches CNN so she can swear at the Trumper.
