Default Steel Challenge

Greetings,

I was just curious does Alberta have many Steel Challenge matches in the province?

Thank you, happy weekend!

I've noticed that they had quite a few of them at the BTSA range west of Calgary, and also a few at Brooks last year.

Steel Challenge runs under USPSA Alberta patronage.
USPSA Ab runs SC at BTSA and Brooks.
Also, CDTSA has SC marches at Shepard and Milo rangers.

If need more info, PM me

BTSA runs a Wednesday evening league every second week throughout the summer.
$5 for members $10 for non-members.
The dates will be posted on Practiscore.

Also, forgot to ask in terms of finding matches or competition what runs mostly?

I am assuming probably the IPSC production and limited? any insight to the sport would be appreciated.

Thank you

There are IPSC, USPSA, Steel Challenge, 3 Gun and more.
Get an account on Practiscore, all the matches will be listed there for the year soon.

I presume you are asking about what classes are shot at steel challenge? There is a class available for just about everyone, that is one of the main attractions of the sport. Along with the centerfire pistol/revolver classes rimfire pistol and rifle classes are also very popular. Pistol caliber carbine (PCC) is taking off in popularity as well. All of this is one of the reasons why you will see competitors as young as 8-9 to well into their 70's and beyond competing in steel challenge.

We built a full set this fall at the Rocky Gun Club. We likely won't host and sanctioned matches but will do some "fun matches" Will plan to leave a stage setup in one of the bays and change it weekly so competitors can practice in the summer months.
