Brian at Starky's Taxidermy has done a great job on my bear rug and wolf rug in the past.

X2. He's done a ton of stuff for me, good taxi and great guy. Could (and sometimes do) spend hours bs'ing with him, lol.

Sugar Creek is in Red Deer, and a Forum Sponsor. Marco does fantastic work, his threads are full of pictures of his work. Although I can't say I've seen a rug in any of his recent pics.

Default Taxidermy

I will vouch for Brian Starkovich as well. Done 3 rugs for me and a couple other Cougar rugs for people I have guided. His rugs are as good as anyone's in Alberta and for half the price of some of these "big" name guys.

Thanks for all the replys and input. I have decided on going with a shoulder mount after looking at pictures and rugs in person i decided to go with the mount. Did my research and checked out lots of people's work. I ended up going with clarence at wildlife originals here in Edmonton. Very good work and the timeline and price was by far the best. Will post pictures when i get it back.

I have a few mounts from him. Got one that needs to be redone as well, a whitetail...
He did great on a sheep of mine and the other not very good at all.
here is the good mount

Hard to see in the pics but this ram is cross eyed and the cape not holding together well around the eyes

Its the big one in the middle on the top

Very nice looking mount. I heard all the horror stories from him before going in to his shop to see his work. He has a couple wolf shoulders mounts in there i carefully looked them over and i was very impressed with the work. Fingers crossed mine will look just like the ones on his wall.
