Default Possible world record

Before I get flamed notice the word POSSIBLE in the title.

Got a call about this fish and it is a SLOB. Here is a 31.5lb SILVER pike caught up at Lac La Martre yesterday. I was told by a famous fishing personality last year that the world record was 20lbs (same lake BTW) & caught by his wife a few years ago. If that is true this monster blows the record away.

I can't wait to head up there this July as the fishing is looking even more awesome than usual. Of course it is June & it's easier to pattern these fish in the shallow bays, at least that my excuse for not landing a 30 lber (yet )lol

Just to put that fish in perspective, Kevin is about the size of a NFL offensive lineman. He's at least 6'3" and a solid 280lbs.

Here's the link

If you check out Lac La Martres facebook page there are more photos of this fish and many other big fish.

Cool looking fish.

Not sure who would recognize it as a record, as silver pike are a mutation and not a seperate species or subspecies.

Wow, nice fish. I just read an article on them. Apparently only one in 25,000 eggs can produce a silver pike, and only about 5% of those will actually live. A silver pike of any size is a rare catch, a 30+lb is amazing!

All fish are catch and release, although they usually keep a 5-10lber for shore lunch.

Maybe I can catch it later. Lol
