What was the water like where you were casting? Depth? Sand? Weeds? What were you using?

Used to be awesome fishing from shore.....when the river by Zeiner was open for fishing. I caught a 36 inch walleye there back when it was open.......sad day when it closed. Don't go there now, you will cause all sorts of a scene...

There is literally a line out from shore in most areas, gotta get very close to that, and you'll find fish. Maybe the occasional fish cruising the sand, but try to get to the weedline and a bit past it if you can

Shawn,he is talking about when you could fish in the creek. That is probably going back 10 to 15yrs . A 36inch walleye was very common back in the day..

Unfortunately no. Back then digital cameras were not common place and I didn't have my 35mm with me that day. I got the measurements of the fish 35.5 long and 15.5 girth, was a beautiful walleye.....had no scale to measure it either. Back then it was not uncommon to catch 8-12 lb fish in the lake and the creek area. Great pike fishing there too.....times have changed.

I was fishing on the north west corner of the lake and picking up walleye in 15FOW off of a rockpile/weedbed. They were there all day but biting most in the morning and evenening. Later in the day Caught a pike in 6ft of water just out from the docks. It was kinda funny looking for pigeon in that it had a small head and a huge girth. Not a typical pike IMO for pigeon.

I was out at Pigeon on Monday. Got out there a little late and had to be back in the evening (so non prime time daytime fishing).
Was quite slow on jigs/minnows. Water is begining to grow some algae (yuk). It might be a very green year on the lake if the junk is growing this early.
All EYES caught were convinently larger than the slot size for tags. lol.

I don't know if she would have been a record based on the fact she was spawned out.....but it was a really neat catch. Its too bad digitals and scales weren't common place then. I released the fish too so that was good. I would like to know what a 35.5 inch long 15.5 inch girth fished weighed though....I wouldn't say fish this size were common but they were "out there". Now I don't think those fish exist in that water system....
