Default Wabamun lake shore

Has anyone fished Wabamun lake lately from shore? I was thinking of trying it in the evening near town by the canal.

Not from shore but all you need is a canoe or anything that floats to get some decent fishing in there. Was out there today and caught 3, all over 4 lbs(guessing weights). Biggest was likely between 8 and 10 lbs and can be seen below, for reference that is a Len Thomson #4.

I was there yesterday at the PP launch and never seen anything saying to pay, just hundreds of people and lots of boats

Yeah I know the picture does it no justice lol. Looks like a fat 4 or 5 lber on a #2 spoon.

Probably a good thing the lake is catch and release. If they opened up then it would dry up quickly with all the fishing pressure the lake sees especially because even more people would likely go there knowing they could keep the fish.

They are charging at the town launch not the PP launch. We were out today i happily paid the $10. Was nice no long lines. Was in and out quick! Cruzed over to the PP and what a gong show. $10 to avoid that mess? No problem. Headed back in the morning for some trophy pike!!

$10 is cheap most places Most places $20 to launch and park no line ups is a bonus.
