Default "The Narrows" Slave Lake

A little direction please! Fished off Joussard a couple times but I've heard a lot of good things about the narrows. Just curious as to exactly where the best access point to this central part of the lake would be. Also if the ice is fine there to drive on with a truck, ice heaves or not. Any pointers would be appreciated! Thank you in advance.

Now im not telling you to just drive on with your truck.
but i was on snipe last weekend and Utiku.. a feew weeks ago.
If your driving on slave.
Id Say Its AY OkAy
But youd better wait for a few reply's before you take my word into accout.
Because iv never done slave. and i dont know anything about the ice on the lake.
mind you. on those northern lakes. Take care, those ice heaves can be bad.
I had one of my buddies go to cross one on Utik 10 years back. 3 feet of ice. tried to cross the heave. front end dropped. And cracked his block.
The truck might aswell taken on water, you crack your block. its all over.
After that its useless. take that into concideration please.

tbh. Snipe was farely good. Caught our limit of perch. Biggest 12' Altho we didnt keep our limit.
About a meals worth.
we caught 1 pike was about 6 pounds threw er back. no Walleye. And 3 whites. nothing even worth keeping.
but mind you.
A good day of fishing for me. is pulling up atleast three.
whether they be small perch or a monster Slough Shark. but we got 8 good perch. 1 pike. and a ton of small perch.
Snipe is a good lake.
but this year its kinda been meh,
We'v maxxed out on 14' average perch b4 on that lake.
Altho
if your just looking to catch alot of fish.
Snipe is the place. imo.
But the locals told me the lake started out slow this year

the only reason i have such low standards.
is because back in my day.
you catch a tonn.
Back when you could catch unlimited amounts of pike like on Lake X In the summer.***
now days shes really slowed.
Now im not a Jeheww So im going to tell you lake x. Angling lake. Entrance at beaver dam.
Now you dont catch big fish.
But you definatly catch a ****load. Atleqast to my experience in the summer, Never fished er in the winter.
Im pretty sure i atleast had 15 pounder on that lake. but the engine was pushing and the fish was pulling tooo hard.
And she Snapped.

been driving on at narrows for a month already, almost extension time.

Go into town of Kinuso to end of road, turn right at T then hang a left over tracks
head straight north for a while road will have a sharp bend to the right go approx 3km turn left, go down this road to end and you will go through a field onto ice.

Yup, that sounds right. I spent Thursday, Friday, and Saturday last week travelling from the Narrows and back into Slave lake. Caught some fish, and met some nice folks.

Hey Snipes, just wondering how the snow is driving through the field. Any big drifts to worry about. Heading out this weekend and a head's up on conditions would help.

Thanks

There is not to much for snow on the lake due to wind, but there is always a drift right at shore when you drive onto ice.

Have been able to plow through it so far this year but that could change with one windy day.

Bring a tow rope and shovel just in case!
