Default "ULTIMATE" Fish Hook

If you were limited to one bait for the rest of your fishing days what would it be??? I would take a 3.00" White Mr. Twister (or Power Bait) with a 3/8 ounce jig (black with yellow eye). I've caught Pike, Walleye, Perch, Whitefish, Lings, & Suckers with these things. Halibut love the 6 - 8" version, this is my pick..... what would you take

For me it would have to be Williams W60 Electric Blue, has caught many different species, and many trophy fish... Cant go wrong with Williams spoons!

I would be torn between a 5 of diamonds, either color, or a Mepps Black Fury.. Have caught fish all over the world with both..

Talking Lethal Fish Hook Weapon

The best hook is one that is very, very sharp.

Sorry to steal a thread. But I need help. Getting back into fishing after a long stint away. Can anyone please let me know the easiest ways to remov e the barb from a hook. Seems when I pinch the hook the is still a little of the barb sticking out. Is it that difficult. Wouldn't it just. E easier to sell barbless hooks.

You can use a dremel tool or file to remove that. Myself if pliers dont work I use a needle nose vice grips. At that point I quit worrying about it, probably someday I'll run into some complete tool of an officer who wants to bea dick and I'll get a ticket. Untill then I'll just keep pretending that the rules are enforced by rational people who want to protect the fisheries rather than jerks that enjoy throwing their weight around.

That's what I was about to say, especially given that the OP asked what bait... Perhaps I'm out of touch and the lures suggested above are actually termed bait. I dunno... LOL

I guess they could be considered artificial bait but personally worms have out fished ANY lure i have in my box. A saying I was told when I was a kid was "If it aint broke don't fix it"

1/4"oz. Panther martin spinners, but has to have the feathers. No feathers, no fish. I have used the small lure with and without feathers on the same day/time on two rods. The feathered one was getting stike after strike. The non-feather spinner got skunked.

Have have caught everything from Perch, whitefish, jacks, walley, grayline and trout.

I also have a dozen of these Feathered Panther Martins when I go out.

Properly shotted Thill float and earthworm. There's nothing you can't catch with it. Pike through flounder.
