Default spring lake whitefish help

Hey guy and gals, I am headed north for a week of fishing and was wondering what techniques or lures work for whites. I have never even tried fishing them before and would love to cross them off my list. Or is this time of year no good? Any tips would be appreciated thanks!

stickfloat with wireworm 18 inches below it,,, cast out and very very slowly retreive it,, if it is a bit breezy the wave action will allow you to watch and wait.

If your in a boat find yourself some weed beds and jig a wire worm about a foot and a half or two feet off the bottom. If the water is really clear you may have to use a float, but your hook up rate will be way better jigging.
