Default Savage Vs. Remington model 710

Still waitin for the old PAL, and noticed that C-tire on Macleod reduced the price of their Remington model 710 combo to $330 from $380. I don't know anything about the remington, and have previously decided on the savage 7mm combo. That is, unless you guys can tell me if the remington combo is a good buy. I seem to recall better reviews on the savage in terms of bang for your buck at $400. Any thoughts?

Thanks!

Moults

1000 X over take the Savage you will regret the 710 Just my Opinion.
The 710 does not do the remington name any favor's but it is cheap

I don't know about Remington at all but I had a Savage in 30-06 and with a good Leupould scope, I could hit 3 bullets on target and all 3 holes were touching each other on the target at 100 yards.

i have a remington 710 in 7 mm. it is hidious and the action is no where near smooth with that stupid plastic "self lubricating" sleeve but even with the cheap bushnell it shoots 1.5 in. groups at 100 yards plus i don't feel bad when it gets abused in the feild and it is the lightest full sized rifle i've ever carried around the bush (cheap plastic stock to thank for that)
when you spend 300 for a combo i guess you can't expect alot but it's light and accurate which is all that i care about it has put deer in the freezer for a few years now
