Default Nordegg family trip

Hey guys, I'm taking my brother and 9 year old daughter fly fishing for the first time this week and was wondering if anyone has any advise on what rivers or streams would be good at this time of year in nordegg.

Thank you for your help

Great Cutthroat fishing. Cross it on the Chungo Road. Best upstream.

Good Luck

I always throw my 870 with 18 barrel on my back. Not that there are going to be any bears but just in case. We didn't do too back in the Cline at the mouth of the lake but small pools in streams are a best bet. First one to the pool catches fish.

definatelly a good size river for beginer fly fishing. i have fished it for 20 years, and know it well. Hoppers/Stimmie, would probably work well right now, and easy to fish. I will say this though, if you are planning on hiking up off the beaten path, beware of Grizzlies. I have encountered a few over the years, and black bears as well. i always carry a Knife, or a riffle when alone. Not to scare you away, just to warn you! lol. Hummingbird or the Ram or Lynx creek are good options as well.

As posted above where the Cline River goes into Abraham Lake is good. You will catch Lake Trout and the Whitefish should have started running by now. there is a size restriction on the Whitefish and a bait ban but Royal Coachmen flies work good on the whitefish. Kamloopers work good on the Lake Trout...red and white seems to be the best. We will be there this weekend.

Shunda Creek is good for brookies on flies or small panther martins.

Good luck and have fun!

no shortage of lakes around there. Check out the coal mine if you are interested in that sort of thing.
