stolen sleds :<!!
So I got a letter from my storage facility yesterday telling me that the lock on the gate has gone missing at least 3 times since christmas so we'll need to pick up new keys etc. So I thot it would be prudent to check the lot today. I didn't even need to pull into the lot to see my sled trailer with both sleds was GONE! Worst part is I can't even tell the police when it all went missing. I even had a 'ball lock' as well as an expensive padlock thru the pin!
So anybody see a white/green 1997 artic cat 580 powder special, a blue 2000 polaris 550 trail or a 2-place d-line sled trailer show up for sale or see them - please let me know or let the RC's know.
I realize its a long shot and I'm not holding my breath but I figured all your eyes can't hurt.
Thanks

Does the facility not have cameras? Lot insurance?

I may be wrong but from what I understand ,sleds don't need to be registered in BC , if that is true then that is probably where they went . So much for storage facility security,i was considering putting mine on the trailer in a storage place , guess I will keep locked up where they are.

Ken no cameras and if he's got lot insurance he hasn't volunteered that info.
Jungleboy I'm sure it would depend on the facility - but I'm definitly leaning the same way!

That sucks. I have done a few claims where people rv's have gone missing from winter storage lots. Come in the spring to get the rv and its gone. No one knows when either. I hope you get your stuff back. Watch kijiji in ab, bc and sask. Never know if their dumb enough to try and sell them.

Not 100% sure, but I believe sleds in BC get registered kinda like a boat. I've seen them with stickers of numbers/letters on the hood or tunnel, no dumb azz plate like we have. Some BC guys must know, unless they do like I do & choose not to register a vehicle I can't drive on a public road.

Low life theives, usually another example of people too lazy to get a job.
Not only do I hate people too lazy to work, I hate theaves,
But only dislike those who won't hold a door for the elderly or others

I'd read the rental agreement that you signed when you took your sleds into the storage facility. There may be info there that you can use to help with your loss.

Lesson #1. A security lot without a camera or a guard on duty 24/7, is not a good idea unless it's free.
Lesson #2. Routinely check on your storage stuff ( I stop at least once a month).
Lesson #3. His insurance will not cover it. He more than likely has a clause in the rental agreement.
Sorry for your loss.

Its a bit far fetched but with no cameras or lot insurance it would be easy for the storage place or someone who works there to make things go missing and simply cut the locks and make the nescessary calls to inform people of the break in to cover the tracks it is winter and if the locks were cut at my storage place i think id notice the empty spot
