Generally when someone skews another's comments and references another mans genitalia it indicates a crippling inadequacy with their own tackle or a seat so deep in the closet you're finding Christmas presents from 1997.

All this MEC talk reminded me that I had an unused gift card for MEC in my wallet. I think it might have been from my birthday before last . I was right beside their store as I had to pick up Mrs Caber's camera from being repaired so I wandered on in to see how slow they were doing, what with being boycotted by people who mostly don't shop there anyways and all. It was slow but I think the snowstorm and being a Friday evening had a large hand in that. One friendly staffer helped me trying on the pack I saw on clearance as well as a few others. They even asked for my business card from reading my business logo on my clothes. I wound up with a large backpack that was the last available of its type, an sizeable 85l Serratus model in an olive color. I think I'll wear it elk hunting, it has a spot that would easily sling a rifle on either side ......

The thing is, I had an opportunity to 'get them dirty anti-gunners' that I didn't take. When I hit the till I unslung the new pack from my shoulder and put it on the counter as well as about 5-6 small items. The fellow rang things through and told me the total was $42 and change. I wondered if he had already deducted my $75 gift card but the total would still have been more than that as the pack was discounted to $190. It should have been $115 plus the small items; he had not rung in the pack at all, I think he assumed it was one I brought in with me...... I pointed out the error and paid for my purchases. No more gift card making my wallet thicker than necessary.

I've been going there since around '77 or '78 from when it was down on 9th ave in Calgary. They've always had great quality stuff at great prices.

Wife and I did shop there...did. There seems to be some idea that there will be zero impact. I suppose it's a matter principals, it matters to me.
