Default I feel sorry for the mods

Putting up with a bunch of whining tattletale babies.

Request to mods, can you set up a sub forum for whiny babies where only compliments and atta boys are permitted so the grownups can have a decent debate without fear of hurting someone's little feelers?

They could call it "Snowflake Discussion". Popular topics could be victimhood, #metoo movements, safe spaces, hipster fashion, how words hurt and how to bubble wrap children.

In all seriousness, the moderators have a tough go sometimes and people do get out of hand. I think the whole thing could be solved by removing the General discussion altogether, if it doesn't directly relate to hunting, fishing and trapping you can't post.

It can't be easy receiving complaints from people whose feelings are so easily hurt, or who try to make posts into something that they aren't, and not be able to tell them where to go. I have had many people work for me over the years, and dealing with nonsense like that was the toughest part of my job. Hats off to the mods for having the patience to do a thankless job.

I have heard of "reported posts" several times.

Do people actually complain about hurt feelings on this forum? Are you people actually OutdoorsPeople?

This forum is frequented by kids so if you are incapable of grown up discussion without name calling its no wonder threads get shut down.

Grow up

Default Here here !

It's the nature of social media . Every hunting , fishing , Outdoor site
Is basically the same . I think it's got a lot todo with the millennial
attitude , pervasive in our society ....
Airborne has got the right idea , I can't see the forum suffering
from General Discussion loss. I have had my share of derogatory
pm,s , Skin Thicken Up !

I have never received a PM regarding differing opinions. If people would do so more often I suspect being a moderator would be a lot easier.

Maybe it is easier to complain than speak up for yourself.

Kids have no interest in topics that big kids with moustaches cry about getting their feelings hurt in. If you feel the potential in getting your feelings hurt simply don't post in that particular thread, or grow up.

Do people actually click on the red triangle, like was mentioned earlier today, to complain when their feelings are hurt? Or don't agree with the topic at hand? Thought this was an outdoorsMAN forum?

That’s exactly the point,,,,, there are rules here, im assuming to protect the integrity of the magazine publication as well as the reputation of the sponsors that pay for the site. I’m also guessing that those that complain are the ones not following the rules and are being reported or there would be no reason to complain about being reported. So the problem lies within the people who support the OP’s original statement and that there would be no need to pity the Mods if the rules are followed,,, simple really. Even simpler,, go start your own Outdoor Magazine and its complimentary forum,,, let all the internet hero’s run amuck and see how many subscriptions and sponsor you get. If you dont like the rules,,,,leave

Well I think of the trudeu thread yesterday and a member posted that anything not related to the outdoors was not allowed but the funny thing is he started a thread about Netflix.

Bingo. This is the 3rd reasonable thing I've read on here today. There is an overly vocal minority on this forum who believe they speak for everyone and any opinions other than theirs are quickly jumped on and attempted to be shouted down.

Read the sticky at the top of the page. It clearly states no political posts of any kind unless they are directly related to hunting fishing or outdoors activities.

The reading comprehension on this forum is appalling.

It is, look at the last few threads on rural crime. The same few people putting down gun owners and rural people which there are lots of on here. They try and twist comments and make jokes about the concerns people have because they don't actually know anything about guns or rural living.

When their lack of knowledge is exposed by their own uneducated comments and you point that out they report you because you have hurt their feelings. They move on to the next thread and start stirring the pot again. Many, many times their are comments made explaining a guns use or rural living but it is clear they are not here to learn about either, only stir the pot. Sad but the way it is.

You have no idea if it is or not and it certainly is not only related to that thread, if you were a mod then you may be speaking with knowledge,,,you are not a mod,,,,soooo

So your solution is to report to the mods that someone doesn't agree with you?

I don't do or say anything different on here than I do if I were to be having a debate in person with someone. I discuss things with my teenaged son in a more aggressive manner than what some folks on here can handle without crying.

Seriously grow up. I know the mods get hit with a bunch of petty complaints from the same people over and over again and most of the time it's just over hurt feelings.

I have a 15yr old, if you think this forum is rough you had better not try to get in on their conversations, you'll leave bawling your eyes out.

Like was already pointed out. There are rules here and I don't make them or enforce them.
