Question Whats this worth??

I don't know if this is the right place to place this but I was wondering if anyone might know the value of this deer head.
I have more pics if needed. It was shot in Sask. about 22 years ago and has sat in my shed ever since gathering dust...time to let it go.
Thanks for any info.
Shaun

Not sure it would be worth anything more than sentimental value.....

Not sure about the rules in Saskatchewan but in Alberta you must get a permit before selling a head. I've seen similar heads in antique shops and such for around $125 - $200.

Saw a magnificent cape buffalo head in a shop in BC last week for $1500. I doubt that would cover the taxidermy and it was very well mounted. They also had a black bear rug for $425. Once saw a very large life size california bighorn for $3500. Sadly, someone else's mounts rarely fetch much of a price.

Thank you guys for your replys. I didn't know about the permit thing, sentimental attachment not so much , but my wife doesn't want it in the living room , she changed to some weird new colors and brown won't work I guess :-)
So where do I go to get this permit so I can get rid of this thing.
Thanks again people.

Your local Fish and Wildlife office will help you out.

I think you could just gift it away for free, then you don't need a permit! I'd still ask F&W to make sure.

SALE OF WILDLIFE

The selling, buying, bartering, soliciting or trading in wildlife or wildlife parts, or offering to do so, is regulated under the Wildlife Act and Regulations. Many transactions are strictly prohibited, while others are regulated. For further information, please contact a Fish and Wildlife Division office.

When conducting wildlife transactions over the internet, recognize that wildlife laws vary in many jurisdictions; wildlife (such as a naturally shed antler) that is legal to sell within Alberta may not be legal to sell to persons in the U.S.
