Default Nice Spring Elk

Here is a nice spring elk I came across a few days ago while out for a scouting trip, no I wont provide location LOL.






Should be nice with another 4 months growth!

I don't think he will have 4 months or 4 weeks to grow. He will be polished in 4 weeks unless the pictures are from june?

nice critter but will be done growing in 3 weeks , and starting to rub by the end of august ..

Default elk

There will be pictures of hard horned elk from the last week of august on the board from bowhunters. He will just tip out and start to harden. I would say he will be knocking off the fuzzy stuff around august 20th.

Scouting at Talbot lake, Jasper?
He'll be finished growing by the end of July and velvet shed 3 weeks later and around the townsite a week later.

thinking you edited this, or my old tired eyes read it wrong: I thought the first time it said the end of Sept.

I know spring came late this year? Is July 14th Spring now? If you are scouting in the National Parks you will be disappointed you can't hunt these guys...
