How is this mischief under $5000? What if someone catches something from this kid and spends weeks in intensive care? With all the healthcare watching them. Surely this would cost more than $5000.

People wanted to know his name, well this is when and where you can find out.
Personally he should not be fined but given community service at $5000 into $15/hr.

Community service is a reasonable option in my opinion

Too many are acting like the guy committed attempted murder is why I gave that response. Plus these days too many freak out and use social media to wreck people’s lives over petty things

Punishment for stupidity is fine but the punishment should fit

I like the idea of work camps instead of jail. Get the misfits building roadside campsites like they used to do back in the day. Even some of our roads were made by inmates during the last century. Maybe not have them busting rocks but definitely splitting wood for our campgrounds. And have so many of the idjuts tending gardens and chickens to feed the bunch of them. And get a few chain gangs fixing all the potholed roads too. And I don't mean with big equipment.

Let's not forget we are all give the status "Adult" at age 16. To suffer the consequences in an adult court of law. Adult court allows for severe sentences and that's what they should be. If the sentences handed out were maximum rather than minimum it might deter a few more. And put them up in tent camps, not big fancy facilities. Criminals have it better in jail and prison that many people have it in society.

The young punk that did this should have his taste buds removed.

I agree. Licking dog crap and gum off sidewalks for a day seems just.

Being born a cretin shouldn't give one a pass.

I’m with you on this 100%. I get the feeling that you’re probably dealing with snowflake millennials on this thread that never had any real repercussions for their actions. There’s no justification for doing something that stupid. Getting beat up worked wonderfully with our generation to correct bad behaviour. Millennials won’t understand it because they never experienced it.

At the very least Law enforcement should have made an example of this individual and thrown the book at him. A Mischief charge doesn’t send a strong enough message or put any fear into anyone else thinking of doing something That stupid.

He should get community service and it should be spent sanitizing homes and vehicles of covid 19 victims.

A better punishment would be to get these people helping in hopspitals, emplying bed pans, cleaning etc.

This is not someone positive for Covid19 going around risking the spread of the virus. It is a disrespectful idiot being unsanitary scaring the crap out of people who are paranoid because of the epidemic

You would not die from a tub of ice cream this man licked he was not putting anyone’s life at risk.

Rude idiot that needs a slap not an attempted murderer

You have no idea if this is true or not.

Your complacency in a planet wide pandemic is unnerving.

We can all play this game.

I don't care if they never give the name, because it does not affect me in 1 way or another, but the moron better get some serious sentencing for his stupidity including reparations and reimbursement of loss to the store.

Not complacent but choose not to jump to wild conclusions and over react

A healthy sense of paranioa is what will keep some people alive, those with a poor sense of precaution will perish. Sad but true. Right now I view everyone as a possible carrier.

I much proffer the common sense and logic approach. Being calculated and thinking about the best way to react is often a much smoother way to face problems

And yet your reaction to those that do that, paints a different picture.

Paranoia = suspicion and mistrust of people or their actions without evidence or justification.

It's not paranoia when the threat is real as opposed to perceived.

Perhaps a more appropriate term to use is Vigilant. Ie. "Your level of vigilance is unhealthy.".

Vigilant = keeping careful watch for possible danger or difficulties.

Paranoia does sound pretty cool though. Even if you used it incorrectly.
