Seems like deer numbers in some areas are down a fair bit especially mulies in southern Alberta. I guess their cwd efforts reducing the herd are working

Was Special License draw tags requiring mandatory answering of harvest reports this last season or proposal for the upcoming one? If so how long do people have to fill survey out?

Both moose and elk numbers are way down from past years. Although some wmu's show a 50% success rate, sounds good but when only 2 moose shot then only 4 licenses issued. Few years back we would get that many moose in one hunting camp.
Hell one bear is harvesting more moose than total Alberta hunters in most WMUs.

Wmu 408. 1 elk, 1 moose, 0 mule deer. What a disaster.

Mandatory---you don't do the report--no eligibility for next years draws

I think there may be a LOT of lying going on by the folks filling out these surveys. Numbers do not seem reflective. Bet if they cross referenced these to the Butcher shops records for the same area it would be pretty clear harvest is being heavily under reported.

Just have a look at the math skills! Not sure when 3+2=4.
So how close would the numbers really be?

Where do you find the number of licenses issued?

The thing I can’t understand is the %sucess in 410?
I’m under the impression that there aren’t draws there?

I have doubts there is much accuracy...450 antler less mule deer tags in 102 and only 38 filled...yeah no, dont believe it.

Exactly what I was thinking, I get there was a lot of undersubscribed for 102 but how can only 38 tags be filled...

More like what a joke. Seen a ton of game sheep hunting in 406 last year, some good quality and age class as well. Just no legal rams lol
Guys just need to hunt harder and keyboard less.

Oh really. I must have missed all the game. Maybe the sign was hidden under the wolf tracks.

Wasnt directed at you personally, was meaning the numbers were a joke!

Must have been hunting different areas I guess. I was actually impressed with my 406 experience. Did see a wolf the day before season opened too though...

I see Male Mule deer in 138 shows a harvest of 30 animals, meanwhile the draw report says there was only 25 tags available. So does the harvest data include landowner tags?

Can you bow hunt in that zone? If you can that would be added to the list along with the landowner tags.

You had to report on survey for general tags didn't you? I recieved a survey for whitetail deer.

If that's the case then we should see a drastic decline in draw wait times for a year or 2...

I'm sceptical that anymore people submitted their harvest reports than past years. I did a quick check of moose reports for a few zones I'm familiar with and for every single year(2012-2019) the numbers were fairly consistent.

As well with the fact the total moose harvest in the province has hardly changed. (Obviously has to be taken with a grain of salt but that could be a good thing?)

These numbers can’t be right... can they? Things seem super low IMHO. I see some of the general archery season and the draw tags are separated explains it.

They should send this report out finalized about the middle of application period after everybody has done their reports so they can apply for draws. I would assume there are lots of people like myself that haven't done their surveys yet. Mine are still open to do right now. Either way a lot of the numbers seem way off to me as been stated above.
