Default Wolf Track?

The wife and I were bow hunting this long weekend in 344 and came across what we think is a wolf track?? We have researched the internet, but are still not certain if what we found is indeed a wolf track or just a really really big dog. We estimate the print to be 4.25 - 4.50" based on its comparison to my wifes hand shown in the picture. Can anyone confirm the donor of this track?

Seen some dandy wolf tracks like the one you have pictured there while out looking for grouse yesterday. Just like to see a set with the perpetrator still in them though!

If you were in 344 then I can guarantee it was a wolf track. They are thick as flies in there.

There is a reason the dogs are in the area (Game)..when they are alone there on a recon .I look for game sign first when I see mostly predator sign and scant ungulate sign.well that's a tell all.

Yep, definitely a wolf. Too big to be a coyote and you can tell it's a canid by the shape of the pads and that claws leave behind visible prints. Compared to domestic bogs wolf prints are relatively narrow compared to the width.
