Default Cow moose hunting. Calling? Stalking?

Hey everyone! I was drawn for a cow moose.

I know how to call moose, but i have never called a cow.

Whats the best way to bring one in close? Calling? Stalking? Or whats my best bet?
Im trying at least all october with my bow so she has to come close!

Thanks guys!

We find cows like to hide from the bulls the first 2.5 weeks of Oct. Then they come out and walk the lease roads and cut lines.I thing they try and hide from those young young bulls that try to rape them .

Find a wallow or salt like with a good amount of fresh moose tracks around. Sit and wait 30 yards down wind. You'll be surprised how many animals will visit these places while you're sitting quietly.

try the distress calf call. i had good luck with that one. stalking is always a good option but of course you gonna have a hard time walking in moose environment so work your feet and get them ready. ohh and wear rubber boots if you want dry feet.

You can call them in with a cow call as I have done it several times. Last sept my daughter wanted to go out and photograph moose with me it was around Sept 20 We called a cow within 8 yds using cow call. Couple years before that I was with another daughter putting up a stand for deer around Oct 10 we were making a lot of banging and brush busting getting it up and a cow came right in and would leave for about 10 min.

cover as much ground as you can early morning, and glass every cut block, you'll find one, then check the wind and get within shooting distance

Wait for some snow and track them.

I wander around lots and always seem to find them if your in a good area. Never really tried to call them, never had too really.

They are usually fairly easy to get close to also if your sneaky.
