Default I finally caught something worthy of posting

Finally... my illusive unicorn.. I know there are much bigger out there, but for southern Alberta, for me this is something I'm proud of!

Please don't ask me where, lets just say its within 2 hours of Calgary.

I didn't have a scale or tape measure.. so no idea on the weight and length.. it was heavy tho. I'm 5'10, 200lbs for reference.

It took me a good 10 minutes to finally get her onto the boat.. using a Quantum Smoke PT bait caster with 20# Spiderwire Invisibraid.

Default Nice one!

Nice pike, even if you gave someone the exact cords I'm sure your fishing spots safe head up to wabamun. 15 lb pike are pretty common!

Thanks! my first big pike was caught out of Wabamun about 2 years ago. It was weighed in at 18lbs. But I noticed last year after they stocked the lake with so many walleye, that was mostly all I caught.. and a few small pike.

Been hesitant about going back up there this year.

Default Walleye

Yeah, seems hard to keep walleye off the hook these days! When you go out and catch only a couple pike you got to wonder. Still fun. Best of luck out there!
