Default Ultimate Trapper?

Hi guys. Just watched the latest Trapping Inc. show on Wild tv internet. It was another great show with AJ Callbeck as a guest showing how to set lynx cubbies. I continue to be impressed with the show and hope there is enough interest so that Rich Mellon will be able to continue show for more seasons of great episodes.
A lot of you probably know AJ Callbeck as he is apparently one of the instructors of the ATA trappers courses. He is a 2 time winner of the Ultimate Trapper award, and my question is what is involved in becomming the recipeant of the Ultimate Trapper award? What criteria does the ATA look at before they decide who is each seasons Ultimate Trapper? Besides bragging rights, is there a trophy or other prizes to the winner?
Thanks.

It is a competition at the ATA Annual Rendezvous. A sequence of competition events and the winner is determined by how they score for the events. If you are an ATA member look in your magazine. A real well run event.

If I'm not mistaken It's a title bistode on the winner of a series of timed trapping related events....ie skinning, fire starting, trap setting etc. Happens every year at the ATA rendezvous

Here is a link to a video on the ata site.

The trappers had to carry a beaver through a mud pit. Good race. Every event awards points. Most points win. Timed skinning as well.
It was a good time from a spectator point of view.

great footage in that link from the ATA showing the coyote speed skinning.

very interesting watching ryan#### running around the coyote. looked like he almost went into cardiac arrest. meanwhile, the Hutterite barely moves.

both truly amazing! different techniques. would of liked to seen that in person.
