Default Ben Stelter

I do not know the family nor never met Ben but feel like I knew him as he was such a public figure during the Oilers playoff run. The news of his passing is so sad. Just another example of how precious and short life is. And F#@k you cancer...

RIP little buddy and condolences to the family.

How sad to see a kid go through that. But what a great end of life journey he had being Rodger's Place and the Oilers good luck charm during their season.

He got the express elevator to heaven. RIP little man.

Hate seeing young kiddos be so sick, just isn't fair. No more suffering, but man 6 years old is just horrible. I do hope he had a great last year, with his team and the fan love from all over the league. R.I.P Ben

Oh man, I was really hoping for a different outcome. That is so sad.
It is so unnatural and wrong for kids to pass before their parents.
RIP little man.

Wonderful memories for the little fellow. He went through more than many can or will ever comprehend. He will always be remembered for his strength, tenacity and the oilers #1, cherished fan. RIP little man.

A wonderful keepsake Cat.

No kidding.

I spent a few weeks in the U of A a few years back at X-mass time and my ward was right above the Stollery and the toy pens that were full of wrapped X-mass presents. That was pretty tough seeing all the little ones being stuck in a hospital for Christmas instead of being at home surrounded by loved ones. That's just not fair and was really tough to see.

The Stollery and STARS are two charity's I regularly donate too, both are great causes and are easy to get behind. At least for me.

Godspeed Ben, for a 6 year old you sure left one heck of an impression on a whole City, Province and Country. Not too many other 6 year old's can make that claim.

His Dad's tweet announcing his passing was a bit of a tear jerker too. Man, sometimes life just isn't fair.

Couldn't agree more with the F Cancer statement. They can come up with a "cure" for the Rona in less than a year but they just can't find a cure for that? I'm not much of a conspiracy theory guy but it sure makes a guy wonder, especially with so much money changing hands.

People died for centuries and millennia and longer from bacterial infections before a dude discovered penicillin. Cancer wasn’t even a thing some decades ago - as in people didn’t even know it existed. I’d say we progressed quite a bit since.
