Question Track ID?

We have seen these tracks coming through my friends yard, and curious what they are. We are suspecting red fox, but don't know for sure. Does anyone recognize. Sorry for the bad pics. I will try to get better pics after work today!

Some kinda cat, raccoon has a longer rear paw than front. Don't see any claw marks either. Maybe a fisher?

Funny that you said fisher. My dad swears that he seen one less then a mile from my house, about 2 months ago. And I did see what looks like large cat prints around a coyote Meatcicle we have set up! I am pretty sure there are claw marks in the snow, and always thought cats always have claws retracted while walking. Thanks for input.

Ps would there be fishers around ardrossan/ Sherwood park? We do have original growth forest around our house

If you google "fisher tracks in snow" and scroll through some pics, it shows what looks identical to a large cat track with a coin for scale, looks extremely similar to the tracks I have seen around the Meatcicle.

It's definitely not a porky. That I would be able to identify.

I believe that Fisher are quite common in the bush lands around Sherwood Park and Ardrossen. My guess is a Fisher. Have them coming into our Coy bait station quite regularly.

Marten, too small to be a fisher.

This is another pic I took just 20 min ago. It's a bit more of a close up. But the track appears to be a few days old

I would say Skunk.

It's not a Raccoon Fox or Fisher. Possibly a cat but I don't think so.

Possibly a small dog, but again I don't think so.

My bet is skunk. Not a likely a Marten. Don't see them walk casually too often.

They look an aweful lot like a Marten to me. Either that or there was a bunch of skunks making trails to the dead Marten hanging in my boxes this year

I wouldn't rule out Marten, but like Douglas says they don't often walk like that. However, they do if something has their interest, like a bait, or some unusual noise, like from within a house.

Another thing, a marten has heavily furred paws so in those snow conditions I would expect a Marten track to appear much wider and less detailed.
But I'm not sure they would. We don't get those sort of snow conditions here very much.
